American Dock & Marine Company

American Dock & Marine was established by Michael Murray in 1990. Mike’s acquaintance with the water began on Wadmalaw Island in the early 1960’s with his family owned business of party fishing boats and shrimp boats. After serving in the military, he returned home to work again in the fishing industry and spent a long period of time as a commercial diver.

In 2021, Judy made a significant career shift by joining her husband’s family business. Previously serving as a director in an animal welfare non-profit organization, she took on the role of an understudy to the previous office’s permitting manager. Over the course of nearly two years, her expertise in project and business management proved invaluable in enhancing the administrative, marketing, and permitting practices of American Dock. With her newfound position as a permitting agent, Judy collaborates closely with local, state, and federal agencies to address all permitting and approval requirements. Additionally, she holds the esteemed title of a notary public in South Carolina, further contributing to her diverse skill set.

In 2017, Amy brought her extensive experience as an Operations Manager in the hospitality industry to the American Dock team. With over 20 years of valuable expertise under her belt, she plays a crucial role in overseeing our day-to-day administrative and clerical tasks. As your first point of contact, Amy’s exceptional professionalism, unwavering commitment to customer care, and remarkable problem-solving skills have been instrumental in contributing to the success of American Dock & Marine Construction, Inc.

We take immense pride in the fact that our dedicated team collectively possesses over 100 years of experience in marine construction, specifically on the local waterways of the Lowcountry. Within our exceptional staff, we have individuals who have been integral parts of our company for more than two decades, demonstrating their unparalleled expertise in their respective roles. Our esteemed Head Foreman, Craig Halter, and our accomplished Boatlift Manager, Jon Reese, have each contributed over 20 years of invaluable knowledge and skill to our organization, solidifying their positions as true experts in their craft.
